Artefacts in Modul8 with Blackmagic Intensity Pro

    by twister101 » Tue Jun 29, 2010 2:45 pm

I'm using the the above-mentioned card in a Mac Pro. The video input signal is PAL. The problem I have is that the output signal exhibits strange artefacts. Apart from the normal interlacing artefacts, any straight line will look extremely jagged, especially when the video output size is not set to default.
I tried different compression settings and even without compression to no avail.

Can anyone using this card please advise.

    Intensity driver: 3.6.3
    Mac OS X: 10.6.3

It seems Modul8 doesn't discriminate correctly between PAL and NTSC. PAL is odd fields first, while NTSC is even fields first. This would probably explain, why anomad doesn't see my issue.

    UPDATE:

Meanwhile I found out, that scaling the video input causes the problem. As long as the size is at default, everything is ok. Once you scale the window the tearing at the edges of objects starts.
