thats preferably non firewire

Do you have a ExpressCard slot on your MBP? This unit works but it's not 100%. Google for an reviw by Vade about this box. I think it's linked from modul8.us. If you accidently bump the ExpressCard during a performance it could eject and you have to redo your whole setup.

mpb has an express slot so would be actually using it for something...
firewire port is beng used by an external drive that has the media on
and shuts down if i try and chain the camera thru it
