1- through the mixer's output !?!, with a cable !?! by turning the volume up !?! what a weird question

2- through BPM, sound input, manually
3- again with a cable, which one depends on what you want, composite, s-video,VGA or DVI

. to elaborate on mowgil_uk's answers..

. 1- usually you run a head phone out or submix from the mixer into your mac's audio in 1/8" stereo jack

. 2 - depending on the music - audio input works well w/modul8 v2.6.1. if they're doing electronic or pre-sequenced music you could get some MIDI information set to modul8 and map that to various functions. and of course, the tried and true - the VJ sync's the video to the audio

. 3 - depending on the mac book you have, check the apple store for which types of DVI or MINI-DVI cables that work w/your particular model. VGA is supported across all macs. earlier models can also send RCA/S-video, but later systems can not.
