Modul8 stutters when doing auto rotate

    by Vibber » Fri Aug 13, 2010 3:07 pm

If I take the Modul8 test card and do an z axis auto rotate on it, it stutters. Ie. the rotating motion is not smooth.

I find this is the case no matter the output resolution, frequency (Hz) and whether using a vga or a dvi connection.

When I put the output window on my laptop screen (cmd+t) there is no stutter. Then when do a cmd+u the stutter is visible even in the preview window.

    Anybody else experienced this?

I suppose there is nothing I can do to remove the stutter, but I would like to hear the explanation of why it is happening

my friend had a similar problem on a mac pro.
came down to a combination of video card drivers and OSX upgrades..
suggest you update all your software.

Does the stuttering appears only in the preview or in both? are you full screen on an other screen than the modul8 interface?

It's normal that the preview window stutters, it's a low quality rendering for obvious performance reasons. But the output window shouldn't do that.
