    Deinterlacing live video inputs.

    by freespirit » Sat Sep 25, 2010 8:50 pm

I'm wondering if there is a way to correctly deinterlace my live inputs (firewire ADVC/Matrox MXO2 etc.). I'm not always free to pick camera/video sources so I regulary get interlaced video sources. None of the capture devices have an option to deinterlace on input so I'm looking for a way to solve this in Modul8.

I noticed some threads here where people recommend Pete's FF plug-in for this but that kills 50% of the brightness from the sources and for me that's even worse than the interlacing, because live cams from clubs are notoriously dark, so any lose of brightness is a no go for me.

If there is a way to intercept the live input with some deinterlacing app before putting it to Modul8 I'm also interested.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

I am wondering if just you and me have this problem?

This threat is about 1 year old and stil no response! I am trying also mxo2 mini and there are interlace lines. What is suprisig me is that they disappear sometimes and come a few min later again..?!

I would be also very thankful for some suggestion.

    best,
    Smo

thanx for your reply, i will check this out.

do you have sometimes some bad freeze crashes caused by mxo2 mini too?
specially, if i am changing the input-codec while m8 is up, i had a few real bad crashes.

after closing m8 the cpu is still running hot in red zone and doesn´t get "normal" til i restart the computer!!!

    any suggestion?
