    finding lost movies?

    re: finding lost movies?

if you move the movies to a different folder ( or HD ) the sets don't work.
(because it can't find the files, of course.)

but It'd be great if the NAMES of the lost files were still displayed in the media browser & the layer titles? to make it easier to manually re-connect the media after a reorganization...

Not exactly, modul8 search the lost files but ONLY into the sub folders :)
Move your md8 file at the root of your disk and open it again !

After you opened you can show the missing media into the script output messages :)
Open the script output window -> (menu) modules->script->show script output

    Boris,

Can you explain a little further? I have this problem too, since I use M8 on 2 different machines and sometimes need to move M8 files between them. it would be great to know what (if any) process M8 goes through to locate files when it can't load them right away. Do you mean it searches root - the top directory of the OS drive? or root - the subfolders within the actual Modul8 program in the Applications folder?

    thank you,

    Dan

It searches on the subfolders within the folder where is your project file.
Use this arborescence or something like that to make your projects and you will be able to move it without any problems.
