I recently started using modul8 2.6, however i have some troubles syncing the speed of the clips with my midi clock input. All videos i use are produced in 120 bpm, so when the midi clock speed changes (lets say to 126 bpm) I want modul8 to speed the video at same time with ableton live.

Does anybody know how i could do that?

I tried out the BPM Router (Master) module and it let me take control of the master speed but I can't transform the midi clock input directly on the playback speed of my clips -> see image

To use the BPM to control the speed of a video clip - do like this:

- Set the speed of the layer to zero
- Turn on the BPM (global) module (or an alternative BPM module like (AT) BPM (Global)) and check the "Use midi clock" option and see to that you have an incomming beat from Ableton.
- Turn on the BPM (layer) module and select "Pick" choose one of the two layer movie shuttles (one of the two knobs on each side of the play direction button, it's two steps below the layer speed).
- In the BPM (layer) module, choose "in" and then "play" adjust with the quantize buttons (4/1, 2/1, 1/1, 1/4, 1/8).

This will adjust your movie to the BPM. It doesn't matter so much that you created it to the right BPM, the length of your clip will be more essential.

Hi folks, sorry for bumping this thread.

I'm having trouble trying to make Modul8 get Ableton's midi clock. Did what Midi Thief said on this thread but still the BPM Global module doesn't seem to recognize the midi clock. Here are two screenshots from Ableton and Modul8:

You need to enable the IAC bus on your Mac (in the Mac AudioMidi Setup Utility). IAC will appear as a MIDI i/o in Live's preferences, and as a MIDI input in M8's preferences.

Once you can see the IAC bus is available in both apps, enable MIDI sync for the IAC output in Live's preferences, and enable IAC for MIDI reception in M8's preferences.

Hey man, thanks a lot! That worked! Just one more question, is it normal for Modul8 not to follow Ableton (or whatever midi clock it's receiving) BPM changes? I mean, if I go from bpm 120 to 150 on Ableton, Modul8 doesn't follow it smoothly, but instead it changes from 120 to 150 all of a sudden (and by doint this it gets out of synch).
