    Core Image Image Unit Installation

    by intlabs » Sat Jan 29, 2011 8:45 pm

I am trying to use an imageunit I have made:

I have placed it both in the modul8 plugins folder and in:
    /Library/Graphics/Image Units

it shows up and works in quartz composer but not in the filter module. What am I doing wrong? I would really like to use this filter in a couple of hours! so any input would be really welcome.

The plugin should take an input and change it from a polar to cartesian co-ordinate system: this allows 360 degree video captured with the sony bloggie camera to be displayed as a panoramic video...

    The plugin is https://files.me.com/petebirley/6l2sy8

    Cheers

    sounds like immense fun.
no idea how to fix it though.
    VDMX might be an option

Intlabs, can you show us a simple example how you made Modul8 connect with your core image filter? I'm very interested in experimenting with this when the next version of M8 is released.

And as for the filter, I assume you made it in Xcode? Any chance of putting a simple example up for download?

    This sounds exciting.

@intlabs: Oops, so the beta is here and I tried your bloggie plugin and it works. Of course I don't have a Sony Bloggie so I happend to create something that looked like a sea of diamonds. Pretty cool in an unexpected way. I saw that Quartz composer comes with some exampels on how to make core image filters. Is it easy to publish controls that turns up in the Modul8 filter module?

    This functionality has great potential!

And while I'm at it: Can you send a live panoramic feed to Modul8 from the Bloggie? That would be pretty freakin awesome. And how is the bloggie in low light conditions? I was thinking of getting one to document gigs but I suspect you won't see much more than bright screens (?)
