    Specific performance question

    by TimeSquid » Tue Feb 08, 2011 11:20 pm

    Hello all

I am running an automated Modul8 setup that automatically sequences through layersets and project files... (8 layersets / compositions per project)

So my issue is with speed. I have typically 2-5 layers on within any given compositions. Im concerned with efficiency. when the layersets change it has to load the clips which can take up to 5 seconds. which is what I am trying to eliminate.

In the Modul8 Preferences I have it set to "when opening a new project, maximum preload size is:..." is set to 7000 MB.... I have 8GB of RAM, so I figured this would work. I have the "release clips from memory" set to 90%

Its not working... The clips never all load, they go from orange to red dots in a cycle... Is there a way to get it to load all the clips in the project as soon as you open them? that way each layerset change will be almost seamless.

Ive stripped the mediabank down to only the clips I need aswell, and none of my clips are very big, I use PhotoJpeg at just above medium.

    Please help.

It appears that the project saves each individual clips settings so when I select "Ram Preload", instead of "Ram Pre-load uncompressed", it helps alot on the speed.

so thats a huge discovery, but the clips still dont load all the way. any ideas
