    Output resolution

    by klif » Fri Feb 25, 2011 6:34 pm

    Hi,

I'm not clear on how exactly MOdul8 handles output resolution.

I'm preparing triple screen setup using Matrox Triple head 2go. I will use it in 2400x600 resolution.

The problem is that if I add 2400x600 media to my project, it should fill the three screens at 100% scale. However, media shows as bigger than output screen and needs to be scaled down using scale slider (reset makes it bigger than the screens) - it seems as output resolution is 1920x480 - three times 640x480)

When I use advanced output and force the output to 2400x600, scale slider behaves as it should, meaning that the media is properly scaled and reset button scales it to fill all three screens exactly. What confuses me is the display in advanced output window - I uploaded a screenshot at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/271386/Screen%2 ... 2%20PM.png . Why do two squares have different size??

    Does Modul8 force 640x480 output?

dont use advanced output with a triple head.

built into the M8 system is a predisposition to use and recognise video sizes that have multiples of 640x480 so anything other than that will scale so that it doesn't fit.
even so the output will be the same as in OSX.
try using the normalise button, otherwise just scale up one layer to the correct size then ++ dupe it
