does M pass audio through to outputs?

    by vjfj » Tue Nov 15, 2005 10:15 am

hi i haven't gotten a clear answer on this subject: i am not able to hear any audio that i have brought into M8 regardless of whether i have "Always ignore sound channels" unchecked in prefs or the "sound level out" knob in the master section turned up. i can see that it is having an effect from the way the objects are animated. but that's all.... my clips are silent. audio comes in from the mixing desk.

can someone tell me if this is supposed to be that way? or can M8 pass audio back out so i can hear what i'm putting in directly off of the computer? if not, then does that mean i have to set up a separate monitoring system to actually hear what is going to M8? i hear nothing regardless of how i have my sound control panel set up to route audio signals.

    thx

hi bassballs, i think you misunderstood the question.while i am mixing (live) i would like to hear the audio i have going into the computer to trigger the effects in M8. but i don't think it's possible. i now just run one patch cable to my speakers and another into the computer. so i hear it that way.

    cheers
