    Hi Phoenix -
    The keyboard 'delete key' or 'backspace' will not delete a clip from a layer - if that is what you mean by delete key.
    Here are a few options:

    To delete a clip from playing in one of the ten layers down the left hand side yet leave that layer and its settings
    otherwise intact within M8, highlight the layer and then click on any 'blank' media in the 'media set',
    bottom right of screen, this will leave you with a layer playing nothing and therefore not showing in the output.

    To delete a complete layer with the clip it is playing and all its settings, highlight it and click on one
    of the two minus (-) buttons directly next to and to the right of either the top or bottom layer,
    sandwiched between a '+' and a '++'

    To delete a clip from the media set and completely from within M8, highlight it at bottom right of the screen, click 'edit' just above the media set
    and choose 'DEL' - the clip is then deleted from M8 and will have to be imported again if needed.

    Hope that helps :)
