i'm trying to smoothly crossfade between group A and B, and swap the movie out of A while i'm on B, but the movie which is playing in the output window always seems to pause momentarily when i click on a new movie in the media panel...

i admit i'm on a slow machine... a 3 year old 1.25 ghz G4 laptop... but i'm not in "full screen" mode...

i'm using short photo-jpeg 640x480 movies, no sound... will i always get this little pause?

I'm using the same box you are... unfortunately, 640x480 clips are a bit much for it. Try scaling down a bit(if you can live with the lower rez) or maxing out your RAM and having the clips you're trying to load set to fully decompress in the memory. Good luck!
