Wait the version 2.5 and the multi-projection support.
(g5 tower dual-core, quad or a matrox dualhead2go is required)

    2 projectors

    by chika » Fri Apr 07, 2006 6:14 pm

ok, I might have to do 2 projectors this point.
current version will support 2 projectors right.
but a matrox dualhead2go's requires pc system...
does it work for Mac powerbook?

Not yet (come with the version 2.5)
But, I made a custom version of modul8 for the matrox dualhead2Go ratio.

officially matrox have no support for Mac, but in reality the dualhead2Go seems to works without problems on a mac.
It works pretty well on my old powerbook titanium 1 ghz, and also on my new intel macbook.
A big tread about this subject is on our forum here :

I went over to Matrox and also saw a triplehead version. I suppose that will need Dual-link DVI to support the High-Rez. I wonder if that would work with my MacBook because I am nearing my final exam at art-school (january next year but that is still rapidly getting closer) and am thinking about doing a surrounding multi-screen projection. If this works with the 2.5 modul8 it would be really great because I hopefully won't need to rent a Dualcore G5 loaded with graphic cards then.

I'm just about to buy one of these matrox boxes. Has anyone tried the triplehead yet with a Mac, if you have, can you work with two projectors if you want. What I mean is does it support a dual output resolution as easily as three output?
    Hope this makes sense

We were on the Liquid stage at the glade recently, where we were using a triplehead matrox with three projectors. The actual three screen show was done with some of Dr Eskaton's custom software and Grid pro (cocoa beta) but I had a chance to test M8 2.5 beta 3 briefly, using a 2,0 GHz MacBook Pro (2 GB RAM).

Although the set-up could be a bit more intuitive, projecting over the three screens worked well. I'm sorry I can't give more details but it was only a quick test. It was, however, successful. I see no reason why 2 projectors would be any different.

    Greetings,

I would highly recommend trying to use it before you go to your gig. We use a DualHead2go and it took my bandmate a little bit to figure out how to make it work (sorry, wasn't there so I don't know the details of what he did, but I think you have to boot up with it connected then mess with your monitors prefs). Even if you only have a computer monitor to connect to it, testing it'll save you some pre-show frustration. Good luck!

    Cheers,
    Justin

I just got a Dualhead2go and can't get it to work with my MacBook Pro. It just shows the same thing on both projectors. I've tried changing the monitor prefs without any luck so far. Anybody got any experience with this setup or advice etc?

Do you mean you set the MacBook's resolution to 1280 x 1024 or each of the projectors.
Sorry to sound stupid but I think it might be broken. Did it ever display the same image on both projectors when you were setting it up? What did you actually do when you were setting it up (step by step please) just in case I'm doing something really silly.
Thanks for any and all help you can give me.

    sorry 2048 x 768 on your macbook (1024 x 768 on each projectors)
    or 2560 x 1024 on your macbook (1280 x 1024 on each projectors)
But it's on the spec. and manual of your Matrox no ?

Of course your projectors need to support this resolution.

    ...
    Support for 2048 x 768 or 2560 x 1024 resolution
    Supported Display Modes
    Resolution Refresh rate
    2048 x 768 60, 75, 85Hz
    2560 x 1024* 60Hz
