Hi all,

Is any one having this problem wen capturing live video ?

I'm using a blackmagic deckling studio on the HD-SDI input.
I get saw effect at the edge of all objects moving in the picture. Its only on moving objects all the rest is ok.

I'v tried to capture direct on the quicktime 7 and the picture is OK, so the problem is on the M8.
Is there any way to fix this, clean live video is very important for my projects.

Please see the pictures.
On the first picture you can see the girl and the fix graphics is ok, but the moving text is distorted.

Thanks

Doesn't it look like interlacing artifacts. Is your capture card set for interlaced capture?

A quick fix is to use box blur on its lowest setting. Its saved me a few times and it only slightly softens the image.

Thanks all, for the reply.

I'v tried all capture codecs, including, none. The result is always the same, only get more or less delay.
Also tried interlaced and progressive modes.

The box blur trick, helps to get a smoother picture, but decreases the frame rate a lot, so I can't use it.
When I activate the blur its like the picture gets in slow motion.

This must be something in the M8 engine, because when I capture with Quicktime the picture is perfect.

I want to appeal the M8 team to help me solve this problem, I have 14 M8 licenses, all used in TV studios for broadcast, and a window with live video is one of the main functions I use.

Mac pro 8-core
12GB ram
2x 1TB HDD
2x ATI Radeon HD 5770

Thanks
Alex
