    LED newbie info needed

    by oicho » Thu Mar 15, 2012 4:47 am

hi, so i have a show that has a giant ( 10ftx30ft) boombox shaped object that has boombox themed visuals projected usually on 3 sides... no problems triplehead, to 3 beamers if needed, or 1 big house projector, madmapped in a minute
and off we go... so. new challenge doing it on a tv show
2 upcoming tv spots , chat show format , smaller boombox set, and no possiblity of projections, got to be LED?
and i have no idea where to start even , are they moduler?, are there specific sizes, connections, arrays? usbs?

any info links etc would be most appreciated

    Hi Olcho,

i think that you need to provide more information.

it´s one thing having an idea in the head and expressing it to somebody else ....

there are so many points to look a that i can even think of how i would do that.

I tell you what i understood:

1.You had a successful 3D projection on a boombox but that was outside and at night.
    2. Now somebody saw this and want´s to have a miniature boombox on a tv show. But it should look like the projection you did at night and outside ?
    3. Now you are thinking of doing the job with a LED Panel , because of the light situation in the studio?

    a) the magic of the 3D projection comes from , projecting light on a 3D surface .
    b) if that would be generated with an LED , then you need a 3D software to do the 3D objects. Everything has to be rendered, etc.

    c)
    are they moduler?

pls explain this in more detail. Maybe it´s just me , but i don´t understand the word "moduler": modules, scripts ....????

    finally:

if you provide us with more information, there is defiantly help in this forum.

Is there anybody from LA in this forum, that can help?

Would be great to see modul8 on a tv show!
    I like the idea....

I would hire help. TV must have piles of money to pay for professional experts.
