    Transformer Patch crappy via Syphon

    by txo!? » Fri Mar 08, 2013 8:29 pm

    Hello there

I´m not able to take a smooth output of the Trasnformer Pacth via Syphon.
Look at the images below, as you can see there is a notable diference betwen modul8 and syphon.

    Some facts:
-In those example I'm working on 1280x720px. (modul8's syphon output size, modul8's advanced output size and syphon recorder size)
-If I record it with the syphon recorder (any codec) it looks same, bad.
-If I render to disk with modul8 it looks great.
-output to a external proyector is ok.
-output to via syphon (siphon recorder, madmapper, quartz composer) is crappy.
-It is the same if I put another layer as background or leave with the modul8 background.

It looks that it is not apllying the antialising or something...

    Anyone some idea about this?

    *edit: oups the spects
    Modul8 2.6.2
    MacOs 10.6.8
2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
    8Gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT: VRAM 256 MB

    thanks

    Hi ,

is antialiasing in the preferences menu set to "None"

i made a quick check with a stroke from the paint module and the
snapshot from syphon recorder looks perfect.

i can´t reproduce the low quality output. .

even when i set low quality , the syphon output looks good.

keep in mind that you need to reastart after changing the prefs to "none"

    i hope this helps .

    hello pele

The antialiaing preferences is set to high (and it happens with the lower options also)
If I had the antilaising pref. to none it would be crappy on the modul8 preview panel also :)

I have not problem at all with the paint module neither,
it is only with the transformer, any other thing looks good :(

    thanks

I checked it with transformer "matrix"
which one did you use ? "patch" ?

And i checked again "none" looks good in MD8 and syphon

have you passed this to the support ?

have you checked a newer version of MD8 ? 2.6.4 or 2.6.7 (beta)

you can download this version from the "yourspace" server

    hope this helps .

    hi there

I used pacth and I wanted in "high", at least other than none to have smooth edges :)

Is it ok for you using antialiasing high? (or other than none)?

I didn't pass it to support, I was trying here first

I'll try with a newer version

    thanks for your help!

    ok,

i used patch - shape "square" and then i tested

grid , dots and plain ....

    prefs set to "high"

and i pushed up and down the thickness.

I definitely can reproduce the posted phenomenon.

    - smooth edges in preview panel / rough edges in syphon output.

why do we see those edges in "none"?

    thnaxs for posting.

did you check the projection too ?

No, it is not just you. Syphon output is not anti-aliased. This will be corrected in a future release.
