    Modul8 + ChamSys - 3 Projectors fairly urgent!

    by afterworks » Thu Sep 26, 2013 2:52 pm

    Hi Guys,

So I'm an LD not a JV so please bare with me!

I'm wanting to know what I need to do to run -

Chamsys lighting desk and laptop at FOH to run 3 projectors on stage.

What I'm not sure about is how to send the video signal down to stage, what convertors etcI'd need?

    Thanks for any help.

depends how far, how often and how much you can spend.
optic fibre converters are the best, but it can be vulnerable to damage.
    otherwise cat5/6 converters

Thanks for getting back to me.

lets say distance will be 100m. Fibre is a no go as we're touring etc and it'll get damaged.

    So Cat 5.

    So...

    is it...

Macbook Pro minidisplayport into Tripplehead to convert to 3 x cat5 cables down to stage, convert back to DVI and into projectors?

in that case it might make more sense to put the playback onstage, which is what you would do with catalyst, and trigger it via DMX.
100m is pushing it for video over cat5
