    Instability of my Setup

    by sehrinde17 » Sat Oct 05, 2013 3:39 pm

    HELP! HELP! HELP!

I´m not able to perform my set because modul8 has been terminated unexpectedly after a few seconds/ control changes. Some information:

    - OS X 10.8.4
    - MBP Retina, 2,3 GHz, 8GB Ram
    - Tripplehead2go DP

    - Modul8 2.7.1 (Syphon Output 1920x480)
    - Madmapper 1.5.2 (3 projector á 640x480)

    - Video Content (30fps, Photo-JPG, 75%)
    - 3-4 Layer (Gener8)

Could anybody tell me, if i did something wrong? I´m very desperate...
If needed i can send a system report of the crashes.

    hola!
the problems with modul8 became not fewer... this weekend I gave modul8 a mother chance but it collapsed again after a few minutes (I used advised video format at 640x480 and ONLY main modules). I think it was the 4th time I opened my set I get this f.... message (see uploaded photo)!!! The days before i noticed that modul8 was very unstable on my machine, so i decided to purchase an "backup" vj application and prepare the same set for it. At the point modul8 was not able to perform anymore I was so happy about my decision. So I was able to finish my show without getting crazy... (It was horrible to explain the blackout to the booker of the club! )

But I must sadly say that I let my finger away from modul8 until this issue still exists.

Please, could anybody tell my what´s my problem!!! (except my worse grammar  )

What is the size of your md8 file?
I had an encoding problem once with a module that used special characters in its name. As the list of your modules (even those that are paused) are written in the md8 file, after a few savings, the module name got messier and messier in the md8 file writing millions of strange encoding shit. My md8 file went to 700mo and got corrupted. It also slow down modul8 a lot (it was soo long to open the file before it get corrupted)

Anyway, this could be your problem. But if not, pause all your modules and see if it get better. Modules can be very bad on Modul8's behaviour.

I performed my setup (3072x768 HAP v.2) with 2.8 alpha without any issues! On Mavericks! Now I can fluently play max 6 HAP clips- with Photo-JPG i was only able to play only 3 clips... I´m so happy, modul8 2.8alpha is working for me much better then any other previous Versions!

    - STABIL on OS X 10.9 (after 10h no unexept shutdown  )
    - BETTER performance (able to play more/ bigger videos :D )

I´ll stay at 2.8 and impatiently wait for the official release!
