render logical record

rendering logical record will not work with recordings over 10 mins, give or take.
I've dug through entire support board and seen that other folks have had this issue but support had trouble tracking the bug down. Last post was from last year.
Has there been a resolution to this issue? A work around? A magic codec?
I'm using the latest version on a 16gig MBpro.
