Update your miniMAD SD-card

First, you need to download the latest image of the miniMAD system (8 and 16GB versions are available) and the Etcher flashing tool.

All those files are available to download on MadMapper Yourspace page: http://madmapper.com/yourspace

On both platforms:
1. Insert your miniMAD SD-card in your computer’s card-reader.
2. Launch Etcher application.
3. Select the downloaded .zip disk-image file as source.
4. Select the SD-card drive as target.
5. Click “Flash!” to start the operation.

The flashing operation can take up to 20-30 minutes.

Now you're ready to use your miniMAD with MadMapper 3.3 and playback DMX/Artnet sequences.

Will this work only with Garagecube LED or can this output artnet directly out of the ethernet port on the Mini Mad?

Will this work with the first generation miniMADs or do I have to invest in the new black ones?

It will work on all miniMADs, you just have to install the latest disk-image as explained in the official user-guide you can find on Yourspace.

I have updated madmapper and minimad to the latest version. following the instructions. but keep asking me to update the card. Am I leaving something?

As for today, latest version of MadMapper is 3.2.2.
What version of MadMapper are you using?
Did the update to the latest miniMAD 3.2.2 succeed?
The best advice I can give you is flashing your miniMAD SD-card using the latest image that's available on Yourspace together with the user-guide that describes the different steps.
Please let us know.

Tried to update my minimad but the unzipped 8GB disc img is about 100mb bigger than my original minimad Kingston 8GB sd card.
I am using MacOs to update.
So...what to do?

Usually we make sure to use the smallest card model that's been shipped with a miniMAD to generate the image in order to avoid such problems.

Are you sure the SD-card is the original bundled with the miniMAD?

yes, very sure -
I tried forcing applying the disc image with pi-baker app even though there wasn't space enough which obviously didn't work.
My MiniMAD is the blue one (raspberry Pi 2)

just bought a 16gb card to try the other minimad image. that one fits

Hi! I am having trouble getting my miniMAD to control my LEDs. The set up works fine when I run it from my mac to my teensy via Artnet. I have used the miniMAD for projections before that also works fine, I've done the update and mounted the miniMAD_3_1_171123_16GB.img.zip to the sd with all the latest updates, but never get LEDs to light up from the mini mad.

I've tried connecting the mini mad via a router (rj45 ethernet) then into my teensy set up (octows2811 adaptor, Teensy 3.2, wiz820io & micro sd card adaptor, wiz850io), I've tried connecting straight from the minimad into the teensy (rj45 ethernet) and no results. where I think I might be going wrong is with the Ip address/network configuration?
Should I leave it as automatic? or does the minMAD IP address have to match the router or the address thats programmed into the teensy? I've tried all the different combinations I could and never got a result any help would be amazing!

If left automatic, the miniMAD will get its IP address from a DHCP server (if present) on the network.
If you Teensy is configured to do the same, it should work out of the box.

If not, you should use the same network mask on both the miniMAD and the Teensy (for example 255.0.0.0) and matching IP-addresses (for example 2.0.0.1 for the Teensy and 2.0.0.2 for the miniMAD).

You should also avoid testing Unicast at start, at least until you get a functional setup.
