Minimad "2" based on Raspberry Pi 4?

    by jottpe » Fri Jun 28, 2019 12:17 am

Raspberry Pi4 has been released. Are we going to see an upgrade to the minimad soon?
New & faster CPU&CPU, More & Faster Ram, dual HDMI w/ 4k, full gigabit ethernet...

    I could see:
    higher Resolutions,
    two Projectors on one Minimad,
    NDI/Syphon input,
more MM functions (maybe multiple medias, multiple layers),
    usb3 flash drives/ssds for media

Unfortunately, porting the minimad on a new platform takes time and efforts.
Fortunately, our team of programmers is really motivated by the project !

I've been waiting years for this to be upgraded. I was seriously considering ordering the old Pi2 version, and trying the hardware upgrade myself. I have an installation that would greatly benefit from MiniMad, if it could do 4K.

If you need help testing your prototype, I'm willing! :)
