creating a movie with symbols - best approach?

    by dj_iKE » Sat Dec 18, 2004 4:00 pm

I want to put a set of symbols in a movie and make the background transparent. And I am not sure what's the best way to do this.

I did some tests to create this from eps files converting them to jpg, png, tif (with alfa channel transparency), pict and pasting these files in a quicktime movie (QT pro). Unfortunately I don't find the results very satisfactory.
The best results I got is by pasting the symbol in Photoshop on a black background of a standard size, saving the result as a jpg and selecting 'light' in the color mixer in Modul8.

I was wondering if anyone can suggest a better/easier approach?

Maybe with after affect... make your render in animation codec w/alpha channel.
photoshop does not always make very well the alpha channels.

A good idea, it's to make your symbols in white.
After you will be able to change the colormodulate in modul8 to obtain a greater variation of colors.
