    mask using painter

    by Niall » Thu May 31, 2007 5:37 pm

does anyone know a way to have layers as masks? as in cutting out the layer below, like in photoshop. I need it to work with painter.
We need to isolate live performers, and probabley can't fit in a blue screen or anything. So, our plan was to be able to draw a faint outline around someone with the paint module, and then use it to mask the layer beneath, if that makes sense.
Does anyone know a way to do this?

I can't really find a way to get it to work like I want it to though, as I understood, I though the mask was to get the final output into wierd shapes for odd sized screens.
but maybe I'm looking at it wrong.
