    midi controller

    by sisteray » Sat Oct 06, 2007 7:36 pm

    Hello,
    i am new at vjing.
If i want to buy a midi controller, i am thinking the bcf2000 or the faderfox ld2.
But... is the one for audio the same that we need to use for video?
and are they good to set layer-specific parameters?
    cheers!

both are good controllers. if you want a light config get the faderfox one if you want a more flexible config use the bcf2000 . another fair choice is the trigger finger midi controller.
Any midi controllers are universal devices. you can either use them for audio or video as long as softwares and hardwares support MIDI protocole.
many threads about MIDI controllers are also available in this forum, go for a search :)

thank u for your reply!.. but what do u mean when you say light configuration or flexible config?
and is it difficult to assign the various effects of modul8 to the midi controller?
many thanks and i will have a look to the trigger finger midi too!

thanks to the motorized sliders you have a more accurate control of properties.there's a module that gets the best of this midi controller. The bcf2000 is great but quite big unlike the faderfox whiuchis very tiny and you can use it with another trigger midi controller for instance. with none motorized controllers you have to be careful about values you tweak from modul8 coz you won'"t have physical feedback on your midi .

It's very easy to bind module 8 to your midi controller Firest read the manual . but it's tricky to write modules that interprets MIDI signals.
