How to make a self running and capturing installation?

    by Volksgestalt » Tue Jan 08, 2008 4:26 am

    Hi Modul8'er!

I am going to do a light installation from 21-7 o'clock nonstop. So no bugs, must run 100%.

What I want to do is:

    1. Capture a snapshot from my webcam ever 15 minutes
    2. Use/Show this snapshot for 2 minutes in order of appearance in modul8 and apply one or two effects
    3. Next snapshot
    4. Capture the whole event
    5. End the event at 7.00 o'clock

    What I have is:

    1. Apple Powerbook running Os X.4
    2. Webcam usb
    3. Videoprojector
    4. Modul8

I am new to modul8 and appreciate every answer - thank you.

I think you'll find modul8 is currently more suited to live performance than time-line based work.
try vjforums. there was a similar subject there recently.

I agree with the previous poster - a program like Isadora or Jitter would better suited than M8 for configuring as you planned. As someone who does this kind of work, remember, no set up / program is 100% reliable!!
