switch layer sets in a slide show way with "next / prev

    by michi » Thu Aug 28, 2008 1:14 pm

    Hi everybody,

is there a way to switch (and autofade) between layer sets manually or is there a slide-show module (layer set) ???

would be great f.e. theater-show-surroundings with biggest flexibility for creation (f.e live feed)
and easiest usabillity for the people running the show with a cue-list.

sorry, to bother you with such a simple problem.
    thanx for every hint

    michi

p.s. the upcomming timeline whatsever modul will hopefully be THE solution

mm ok, for now I only made a module that allow you to fade the opacity of any layer at a defined speed. Now I read again your post, it seems to be impossible to crossfade from 1 group of layer to an other... you can maybe fade to black, switch and fade back to the other group.

well would it be possible to have a module that steps from layerset A1-A8 and layerset B1-B8? on a speed setting or ideally running from bpm?

combined with the 16x10 layer sequencer and crossfader running off bpm as well this could be a very powerful way of generating a lot of control from one input

Hi, this isn't at all what you're looking for :-)
i.e. it's not a Modul8 based solution, but picking up on your theatre/cue list comments
I have found Qlab to be a very quick, simple and useful way of doing cue based theatre work
with audio, stills and video but not, I think, live feeds :-(.
Once set-up it's dead simple to trigger just using the spacebar, very user friendly.
You may have come across it... this just for info really
    http://figure53.com/qlab/

The basic app is free to try and functional but without video support, to add video capability it costs,
but you can get an idea if it will work for you or not.

Ahh, dreaming of a timeline here too )))))
