no there ain't no photoshop brushes in M8
you can still use the module called "paint(layer)"

it's not like photoshop but you can do some live drawings
PS: for further infos, see the manual

If you can extract the bitmap that creates the brush, import it into modul8 and turn on the trace function it will have a similar effect but without any pressure sensitivity. For this and the paint module as well I use a midi controller to control the width of the brush thus 'emulating' pressure sensitivity. The results are quite similar.

    paint / pencil / spray / mouse speed & bezier width /

I was thinking about "pressure sensitivity" or "spray feature" in the painter module...
some programs (processing.org )have a pmouse feature (previous mouse position for X & Y).
If this feature is available in python, we could get the speed of the mouse...
and with this we could emulate a "pressure" or the witdh of a line...
    EX:
If speed is LOW, draw a FAT line (or fat rect/oval/dot)
If speed is FAST draw a thin line ("...")
If speed is 0 the rect/oval becomes bigger and bigger

I will try to look forward on this option, in order to add something like a "spray can" button
i don't know if it's possible, i don't know if it's usefull but the chalenge seems interesting...

    EDIT (18h44)
here is what i get right now
it's dirty but i think we could get something...
speed is increasing the width of the bezier line

    Image

i only tested the speed of X (not Y coordinates yet)

so, i've done it with X and Y
    and renamed this "dirty pencil"
because it looks more like that to me...
(like the pen from "bic"...that stayed into a bag too long...)
    Image
if someone is interested in this, i can send it ...
be carefull it's raw and dirty...

Nice one zoophar, I'm interested in dirty pencil (like the name!!) thanks.
I'm using the Painter module with a fine-art colleague doing 'live' painting. I'll pass on thoughts :-)

    Ok No problem'
Just give me your e-mail (on private msg)
and i will send it to you

By the way, this thing is quick & dirty,
and i don't make live drawings...

But i would be very interested in critics
(bad critics too ;-), there better than the good ones)
and i would be pleased to know how i could improve it

PS: don't get your hands too dirty

EDIT:you can also download it directly at this page...

Can you photoshop a picture for a better result for a portrait tattoo?
I was wondering if there is a way to photoshop a picture for a portrait tattoo??? My friend wants to get a portrait of her son and extremely likes a certain picture. She took it to a tattoo artist and he said there wasn't enough shadowing for it to come out good so now she was wondering if theres a way to modify that with photoshop?
