I've had modul8 since like 2005 I think is when I bought it
finally I am really getting Into it
I project at concerts using a powermac g5 dual 2.5 with 4.5 gb of ram
I want to use a USB device to control the program
I have a USB device but can't figure out how to program it
isthere one that is easy to use and easy to map?
Is there a such thing as auto mapping?
I am currently controlling everything with a mouse which is crazy
and when I'm high and the music is really good it gets to be tedious
any suggestions anyone
the USB device I have is the m-audio uc-33
i have no idea how to make it control modul8
I would buy a better one if there is so ething someone knows of and is easier

also, are there any mire effects in modul8
I find myself running out of stuff to do at the shows

I found a sick plug-in page.
I still don't know how to use this MIDI USB device to control Modul8
Any help would be awesome.
Has nothing to do with mapping as mentioned in previous post

UC33 works very well with M8. It is one of the most cost effective one - so many sliders, knobs for the money. It maps just like any other midi controller. You could use Enigma to program the layout, but this program(Enigma) is crap and works OK only some rare times.

Mapping>Edit MIDI map>click on the element of M8 you want to map>move controller on your UC33. Thats it!

when i turn the knob it sets it and sets a key like [1/28]

then i stop mapping

i move the knob and it instantly jump to 100%

is there a way to make it more relative and not absolute?

Is this what the midi relative module is for?
How do i use it? all i see is a black rectangle with the title.

Hey Guys after a ton of research, i decided to sell my current midi controller, and get one that works with modul8 better. So far ive got my peepers set on the maudio UC33. Are there any other controllers youve had good experiences,and are worth considering?

I'm using the Behringer BCF 2000 before I've got the BCR. A mix of both were best with shorter faders but some more knobs with push-function.

. i use the livid instruments ohm36 - nice collection of buttons/knobs/pads

. i aslo pack a korg nanoKey for when i need 50 buttons (25 as notes/25 in CC mode) handy.

cheap, lots of buttons, knobs and faders and fits perfectly with a MB 13" ?

It could looks like a playskool thing but it's not.

If you are a brutal vj don't expect something very solid, it's not a BCF2000 !

I really like the UC33 ~ Its in my price range an has the knob slider ratio that is best suited for my needs. THANKS!

Apple extended Keyboard with Numeric Keypad.

Hundreds of buttons available for key mapping.
Use Shift to double up keys if you want, although Shift Lock has never worked with mine.
Built in 16 pad Numeric Trigger Keypad for clip triggering.
Multi-purpose.
Cheap - £10 to £20 UK quid on Ebay and well built.
Built in 2 port USB hub.
User definable labelling... with stickers.
Some of the keys come ready mapped to M8 - Up/Down arrows between layers and L/R arrows to fade layers.

Map the M8 Masterfader Module (name?) to a couple of keys for really fast, user definable crossfading.

If you reckon you really need faders, and I would argue that you don't, get a Novation Nocturn but...
mapping gui knobs to the BPM in M8 and triggering them on and off with a keyboard key is all that's really needed,
watch your working method and see how little you really use/need to use, faders!

I've tried almost all the other options since M8 was V1 but this is the kit I always pack to go

i am using 3 controllers ( 1 has sliders) one hitable pads and a monome
and still run out of knobs that do what i want
having experimented with touchosc on my iphone and made a couple of test templates i am more than curious to see wether an IPAD would replace at
least 2 of my current controllers

anyone else looking down that road?
