Storing IN & OUT and speed for each clip?

    by nbd » Mon Apr 17, 2006 2:34 pm

    Hi modul8er,

is there a way to store In&Out-Points as well as speed as a setting for each clip in Modul8?
As far as I work right now,
the settings for in and out and speed are made for the layer, not for the clip. as I change the clip in the layer, the speed/in/out from the former clip will be applied to the current clip in that layer.

I like to work the other way around: Store In&Out&speed for each clip and THEN apply that clip to a layer.

    Is this possible? How?

    Thank you,

    andreas

yes i have noticed that there are quite a few things i would like to do at the clip level (a bit like ableton live) that you can only do at a layer level. In and out points would be great. All controls being at the layer level for everything means that you have to prepare your clips before hand a lot more, and loading clips on the fly becomes a bit trickier as they always have to be in a layer which corresponds to the settings you'd like.

is it possible? or not? Storing IN/OUT on Clip level?

    No, that's not possible.

i think you can build a module that stores in/out points and media name (v.2.5)
you can build a function that snapshots properties of each layer. then store it with module.setDefaults() 8-)
i hope someone will write this module and share it.
if i have time I'll write it or or we can build it as a collective work
