    keystrokes/macros really really necessary!

Last night at SHARE was the first full run, full on performance of Lance Blisters. It's a very tricky performance because it requires me to use
modul8 exactly like an intrument. All of my clips have to be on que for
very specific moments in music. At the same time the music is extremely fast paced. The adrnennaline levels rise very quickly and despite several
rehearsals mistakes are still made. Perhaps more rehearsals? Maybe so... but even during the rehearsals I can see plenty of instances in which a macro would be quite useful. And very simple ones at that. Like for example having 1 key to jump through a series of still images and at the last press go back to the first image in the sequence right after turning off the layer.

In any case... this is what I have been thinking about in view of the challenges in doing live performances where the video needs to be synced very precisely to the music without connecting devices together.

yeah as someone also doing tightly choreographed work in m8 (though not as rapid-fire as ilan's) I'm also finding M8 less than ideal for this. My collaborator does his work in Powerpoint, and though there are so many things M8 does that PP could never think of doing, something like a simple linear sequence of still images forces me to bring along a whole 2nd laptop just to cycle through a file of jpgs.

There must be a better way... I'm hoping python scripting might be adaptable to this.

Speaking of Ilan's show at Share which worked quite well. Any mistake you made would'nt have been noticed had you not been swearing so loudly. Sometimes it's good to just stay cool and act like you meant to do it.

Thanks for the feedback on the cursing. I had no idea that I could be heard over the audio levels that Geoff was putting out. Good to know.

Heh - prolly should have brought it up in private. It was a small space - and with Geoff's shredding i don't think anyone outside of 15 feet noticed.

    Good show.
