    Mapping festival geneve

    by madsmeskalin » Sat Mar 13, 2010 7:49 pm

    Hi folks!

I want to attend the mapping festival, just to watch and meet other VJ's. But the web-page (www.mappingfestival.com doesnt really give any information.

    - How much does it cost?
    - Is there places for camping?
    - What is the cost of living for a week in geneve?

    etc etc.

    Appreciate any info,
    Mads Meskalin

    Hello Madsmeskalin,

    - Usually entry to the whole entire festival is about 40 swiss francs, that's about $37. This is an estimate because I don't know for sure what is being charged this year but it should not be that much more expensive then that.

    - Re: camping

    You can try this:
Ouverture du camping : de fin mars à fin septembre
    Adresse:
44, rue du Nord 1248 Hermance
    Tél. 022 751 14 83

    Or google brought up this:
    http://www.isyours.com/e/guide/geneva/camping.html

    end this:

    - Unfortunately the cost of living in Geneva is quite high. I would recommend not eating out. The supermarkets are excellent. Special prices on excellent cheeses, chocolate and delicious breads. You can have quite a feast on a tight budget.

Thanks ilan! Appreciate the info. I guess I'll bring some canned food as well ;)
Is it far from the airport?

Not at all. You can take both a bus (the 10 bus) or the train into the center of town. Both are about 10 to 25 minutes ride.

Note that before you leave the baggage claim area that there is a machine just before the exit that dispenses a ticket that provides free transportation using the bus or the train, to anywhere in Geneva.

I recommend browsing a map a bit to get oriented before you go so you know where the venues are etc.

Great! But we are poor and are thinking about only coming for a few days. Is it possible to buy day passes?
