The festival returned this year and was a Chuck Norris powerhouse of underground electronic music. All genres were represented by the best DJ's and produces playing live and everything.
I went early this year to help the Bloc TV crew setup and it was an awesome experience. Really good to meet everyone and see the stages come together. Sadly I didn't take any pictures or video but I'm trying to get some of the performances...
There was a "triple head to go" setup in one room (Reds) and a duel head setup in the main room (Center Bloc) with 2 Christie's pumping out to screens at the sides. There was also another room (Tech Bloc) that was a little more intimate than the other big stages which had 3 projectors, one on the stage and 2 either side - ideal for 4:3.
This year I was lucky enough to play on each stage and try out some duel head sets I had put together. Cycloptic was really helpful and encouraged me to bump up my duel footage for the triple head to go set up. Looked awesome - take my word for it! Thanks Emanuele! There were some great VJ's there:
Cycloptic - does amazing things with modul8!
Vector Meldrew - one foot in the rave. Mega
Avologists
Mash Cinema
Pfadfinderai
Plus the Fenchurch dome with a panoramic 5 projector setup on the dome ceiling. Awesome. Not sure but have a suspicion maybe AntiVJ was playing there?
All in all was an amazing experience. My highlights were playing for Salt N Pepa, Skream & Benga, Mungo's Hi-Fi, DJ ZInc, DJ Hype and Boy Better Know.
