    Multi projection onto 3D prints

    by 3DSparrow » Fri Nov 07, 2025 4:11 pm

We are trying to update our process of projecting geospatial data onto 3D prints of topography and buildings ie 3D maps, we are going from one projector to multi projection to increase resolution and coverage etc. What is the best way to do this, as we have been calibrating the system to the 3D model which were used to produce the 3D print, but when running multiple projectors we cannot see a way to edge blend when doing this to improve the look of the overlapping areas, is this possible or would using Spatial Scanner work or is there something else needed

3d calibration was developped with 1 projector in mind.
for multiple projectors, you'll have to do the masking by hand.
That's not difficult, just add transparent gradients over the parts you want to mask.

We're not pushing the 3d calibration part of MadMapper because there doesn't seem to be enough
clients interested in that feature, unfortunately.
