no OSC Out at MM 5 & 6, only in 4

    by Thorben » Mon Dec 01, 2025 3:04 pm

Hey Guys I skipped MM5 for many years because im using around 300 OSC Out Connections in MM4 and OSC Out never worked in MM5.
Now I really want to switch to MM6 but it just want work. Do I need to update Bonjour? Any other tips? Whats the difference between MM4 and MM6 when it comes to OSC?

    cheers

So it seems I can only send out OSC on Port 8000, but it needs to be 4000, Madmapper 4 worked perfectly on port 4000.
Is possible to unterstand the difference between MM4 and MM6 regarding to OSC?

I will move this topic to Discord.
    cheers

I found your issue. Port 4000 is used by MadMapper for Sony Camera discovery. To use the port in another application on the same machine, you have to disable Sony discovery.
On macOS, copy that in Terminal.app:
    for MM5: defaults write com.garagecube.MadMapper enableSonyRemoteSDK 0
    for MM6: defaults write com.MadMapper.MadMapper enableSonyRemoteSDK 0

    On Windows, from Cmd.exe:
    for MM5: REG ADD HKCU\SOFTWARE\Garagecube\MadMapper /f /v enableSonyRemoteSDK /t REG_SZ /d 0
    for MM6: REG ADD HKCU\SOFTWARE\MadMapper\MadMapper /f /v enableSonyRemoteSDK /t REG_SZ /d 0

Then restart MadMapper. That will solve the port 4000 issue.
