    Grouping Layers

    by VJnutcracker » Sun Mar 25, 2007 10:49 am

    Hi

Sorry if this has been asked before, couldnt find it when searching.

Is there a way to group several layers together and control them as one.

For example - if i wanted to create a cube with a different image on each face then rotate/move the cube as one, i can make the cube up easily enough with 6 layers rotated correctly, but if i then wanted to animate the cube its not that easy. Another example would be if i wanted to modulate the colours of several layers all synchronised to change at the same time.

You can try using keymap or midimap [mapping menu], setting the same command to the layers you want to control (position mode). It works great !

If you do this, make sure the midi mapping is in layerset or position mode, then assign the same control to the property on each layer.

I dont think its possible now i've tried what you suggested, because position of the layers is different they will all move differently, not as one as i wanted, however thanks for the tip, i got some interesting effects when manipulating several layers with one knob, sort of synchronised chaos.
