Basically i'm looking for a way to quickly take 'grabs' of a video input stream (from an iSight or a FireWire Camera) and have this immediately accessible from within modul8, in the clip library. VDMX does this by in the video input window having a 'record' button which literally digitizes and captures the live input, and then puts the clip directly in the clip library for immediate use. This is handy for live-ish scratching and manipulation - not quite as good as an input buffer, but in the same area.
What i'd like it to be possible to kind of 'live looping' for video, so quick fire video samples that could be looped and triggered.
I'm not a VDMX owner, but have played with the demo and it does excel in certain areas (modularity being one of them), but the modul8 interface is clearer and simper and additional its optional library add-ons are certainly better.
