    read the manual…
from the beginning modul8 can only play quicktime movies or stills or quartz composer patches.

anyway even if you want to play your loops on any OS you should use photojpeg quicktime files cf. resolume spec sheet or arakaos spec sheet.

read my post: the question is why can my mates mac machine load the avi files OK but my identical machine not?

    can you play them?

on the pc, i use vjamm and ffrender. they only load avi not qt. so it was not possible to make a clip lib in qt, seen?

    thanks

check the different codecs you have on your different macs. The avi files are containers like mov files, then inside your video is compressed using a specific codec, check if you have it

If Quicktime player loads the AVI file then Modul8 should also be able to play it (at least version 2.5.5).

Mattblack, which version of Modul8 are you using ?

    Best regards.

    David.

I think there need to be clarifications

1: on one machine you can play your avi file in both quicktime AND modul8?

2: on the other one you can read your avi file in quicktime but not in modul8?!?

or in point 2 you cannot read your file in quicktime and modul8?

    That is correct!

    Maybe they have flip4mac installed?
This lets avi files play in qt

    yes mate.
converting everything is an option, but it would be wicked if modul8 could properly help escapees from Windows!my lib is like 2terabytes...
