you can do this in FCP, but then again, FCP is massively more expensive and has apple computers to back it up..

yes M8 isn't perfect, but if you consider what it does and how reliable it is, there isn't anything that comes close.
even the mighty VDMX doesn't work all the time - grid pro never did..
resolume, always crashes...

I can see the use of that in final Cut when you're editing with 100's of clips as part of a team all using the same source files but in Modul8?

Maybe a new feature to put on the wishlist!
I use to rename my layers on the fly on other applications,
that would be great to do it on M8 as well.
