    same problem with network module..

    by pls » Thu Nov 27, 2008 6:16 pm

i would also like to have a better manual to set up the network module..

    i'm working on a g4 12"powerbook and a 2,33 macbookpro both with newest leopard and newest m8..
i'm trying to get a connection via airport.. which is running fine concerning datamanagement and apple remote desktop or even midi over network works without any problems..
first i tried using dhcp where one network module didn't get the right ip-adress shown in the infobox..

so i switched to manually choosen ips..
where i did 169.254.0.1 and 169.254.0.2 for the second computer and 255.255.0.0 for the subnetmask for both..
in this case ips are shown correctly in my networkmodules but again nothing happens..
i'm using the create network function with built-in airports, no cryptography..

    any suggestions?

I've not had any issues with this. As long as you've got your two computers networked it should work straight away. Create a network with one of them and then log on to it with the other one. that's it.
