This is most needed. Never knew the importance of such thing until I had to curse at my machine for hours the other day

A CANCEL button added to the "Render Logical Record" option. Once you start rendering, you just cannot stop it!

No

Use menu->Record->'stop record to disk'

Sorry we made a mistake with the name of this menu.
(Stop is for logical and record to disk)

I thought it was just for Record to disk! I read the manual and all, looking for this

How about locking all the interface and popping up a window with a cancel button? So one does not f.... up and everything is right there?
