    Preview render suggestion

I have a suggetion for the 2.5 release (maybe it's too late). Should it be possibble to make the preveiw rendering window in a lower resolution than the output window? I mean that the preview windows doesn't need to be as precise as the output one, we only us it to be sure we are not preparing something absolutely ugly, but I think that we could make a lower render and then keep the CPU for the main output render. is it possible? As most of the VJ probably work with powerbooks, and as the powerbooks don't evoluate enough (POWERPC problem...welcome Intel) it could be great to save a bit of CPU?
We wait for the 2.5.... we wait!

Well, the preview window does not really take CPU time, but mostly GPU time. It is true that it would be possible to save GPU time by rendering to an offscreen VRam buffer and scale to the final output. This is something that needs to be evaluated. But I don't think it will be for the 2.5. Thank you for the suggestion.
