Love modul8, but... "note off" capablilty?

    by joshuapearson » Mon Mar 13, 2006 5:39 am

i'm new to the software, but i've used other sampling and video-sampler software... when triggering a clip with a keypad key or a midi keyboard, there seem to be only continuous looping options, forward, alternating, and one-shot... but i can't seem to figure out how to make a clip play only when i've got my finger down on the key, and have it stop when i lift my finger...

i'm sure i'm missing something basic...

meanwhile, i'm stunned by the visual quality... at the office (a post house, www.outpostdigital.com) i was playing back & mixing & flipping around 2 2-minute long 10-bit uncompressed movies on a G5, off of XSAN... not exactly a mobile rig, but the potential is amazing...

    thanks!

You are right. There are definitively improvements to be done in this area. The support of Note on/Off is pretty limited in Modul8. It can be implemented in a more advanced way using the module system (which requires some scripting)... but it is not a very easy solution.

Use the included Media Keybaord module for this. For the time being, it is your only choice ;)
