Router that will support Jumbo Frames

    by tesart » Wed Aug 17, 2016 6:12 pm

Does anybody have any recommendations on the best router to use? We are running 144 universes of 2812 lights and with them all going the last 30 universes or so are really glitchy. turning off the first 30 fixes it. We are running pixelators from enttec and they wont allow us to select Jumbo frames. The only thing we can figure is our router doesn't support them, we are using an airport extreme. any help would be great!

where do you know from that the airport expreme does not support it, because the airport extreme should have a Broadcom chip inside that support even bigger frames then regular Jumbo Frames. Maybe you just need to activate it and it has a different name, maybe just packet size or MTU size ^^

Jumbo Frames is an idea, but it's not common enough. Using unicast we could control 400 universes at 100 FPS in real life situation. So I have no doubt you don't need jumbo frames...
