What does "instance" mean in this context? They are two different materials, two different scenes and two different quads, they both have a fade of 4 seconds.

Hi Madmapper team, Using 5.1.4 I have made 14 scenes with around the same number of materials. Each scene has a separate surface quad for each material with all the others turned off. Each scene also has an "Ease in out" fade of 4 seconds. The problem is that certain scenes dont fade with each other...
