. i'm still looking for the site (stupid bookmarks file got corrupted) - i seem to remember finding the site when looking for barebones firewire (or analog?) cameras - they had small cameras in the $25 range. probably surfing through vj forums....

. while digging around - i found the D-VHS systems (which went completely under my radar -and apparently most everyone else's since they look discontinued) - high quality HD recording to tape. has anyone here ever used these? looks like they're only FireWire in (to be used w/digital set top boxes).... that could be a solution that's better than regular VHS.. systems like - http://www.amazon.com/JVC-HMDH40000U-D- ... B0000ACY2B

. along that line, what about HD-DVR systems? their has to be at least one model that isn't specifically designed just to capture television signals...

. but that got me thinking even more... what is the predominant video output format people are using ? still NTSC/PAL ? VGA? DVI? i kept thinking an EdirolV4 would be really nice, but I find myself wanting to move away for 640x480 fuzzy video. more and more venues are loading up on HDTVs... maybe it would make more sense to output 720p and investigate capturing HDMI or DVI... how would you mix signals though ?
