    Losing communication with midi triggerfinger

    by deadred » Sun Mar 11, 2007 3:30 am

I just bought a trigger finger by M-Audio to use in conjunction with Modul. I'm happy with it, but sometimes if I move a fader or a knob too fast Modul loses communication with the unit. I have to unplug the USB cable and plug it back in if I want to reestablish a connection with the TriggerFinger. This is very annoying. I don't know how to fix it. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

    Trigger Finger connection issues

    by paddy_petes » Wed Apr 18, 2007 3:30 pm

    Hi

I also have intermittent connection problems with my trigger finger and modul8, it's as if there's a loose connection between the usb cable and the trigger finger but this only happens in modul8. I use it with ableton live and there's no problem.
Have you managed to find a solution?

    Trigger Finger connection problem solved

    by paddy_petes » Wed Apr 18, 2007 8:56 pm

I solved my connection issue by powering the trigger finger from the mains and runining midi from the midi out through a midi to usb interface rather than straight from the usb port to my macbook pro.

I'm interested to know whether this is what everyone does or can some people go straight from usb to mac?

Or is it simply a laptop issue and this works fine with a desktop?
