    more media in modul8

    by ram0n » Sat Jul 28, 2007 10:11 am

    Hi!

Im using modul8 for a few weeks now and i thinks it absolutely great!

But i have a question about adding media.

i have 8 media panels wich contain 16 media banks.
this would mean i can use a maximum of 8x16 = 128 media files.

is it possible to add more media files to modul8?
can i add a media bank ? or is there another way to add more media to modul8 ?

    hope you can help me.

    greetz

128 is a lot compared to many other vj softwares, some are only 20.

128 is a little bit short if you use the slideshow module, but you can also cheat using a quartz composer file that reads contents from a folder and play it the same way as the slideshow module does.

I agree, more content and allow us to get rid of the 16 clip view and see it all. The module for this is great, but it doesn't allow me to add content, for that I have to go back to the 16 clip view. When you are switching out clips constantly it would be good to be able to not have to keep switching banks. Basically, I'd like a 10x25 clip bank at the bottom of my screen! :)

Just wanted to chime in -- the limit on media is the *only* thing holding me back from buying Modul8. Everything else about the program is great, but I'm not going to buy something that I really can't use seriously.

More reasonable would be 20 banks of 36, or simply resizeable palettes with subfolder support...

Can you import media bins like you can with Resolume (which is where my exp lies)

You import the clips as you would normally and then save that 4x4 group of clips as a 'deck' in resoulme terminology. Then when performing and running out of clips you just loads up a 'deck'

The only workaround I can see with having 128 clips is you would need to load a whole new project with a fresh 128 clips. The clear issue is here is that it would stall the output of the performance unless you mixed/cut to a DVD or something.
    nutta as yet.

try dhe "Open project (global)" module or get the last Beta version of M8 (2.5.5) . you can now dynamically load (and /or replace) media into the media set without loading a new project
