vj set recorder?

Im looking to record my VJ sets, if anybody can help me, it will make my life easier.
I dont want to spend a lot of money, is there a device that while im Vj-in LIVE i can record the video and the audio at the same time?
Please HELP?

Get a Sony Dig8 deck or miniDV deck.
A DVD recorder is not a good option as the MPEG2 compression is set and doesn't always
work well.

The
Pinnacle video transfer Can record audio and video, and encode it straight away to your ipod or hd (only windows formatted hd's). Maybe that can be useful for you...

But, thats not it eithe,r it doesnt record the outputs ,
its just a simple video transfer device.
I cant belive somebody hasnt come out with this thing yet.

It converts video and audio to any usb storage device.
And it is kinda strange there isn't something like this on the market, I think most of this stuff is for professionel users, because I do know some hd's which can record audio and video straight away.

This looks pretty interesting! So are you using the Pinnacle Video Transfer or do you know anybody who does? I want to know if it works well so there isn't any weird lag or inconsistencies.

Did anyone try it yet?
i love to know does it record sets well,
+ a screen to view what you have done,
and it fits on cig pack thats how small it is. nice.
love to try it first though.

I have just got a dv-500. I will be doing tests after the easter hols... will report back on quality etc... watch this space.

I bought the Pinnacle Video Transfer. It's unfortunately not that great. I've recorded analog video to DV cameras before and it won't beat the DV quality. It seems like it has 50% compression problem (moving flat colored objects looks crappy) and 50% field problem. It looks really crappy in full size.I needed this device for two reasons: to record video in full size (to put on DVD) and to record audio and video at the same time. It works fine for making small videos to put on-line.

Hello all. Sorry its taken so long to update info on DV-500. I use this to record with a bullet cam on my motorcycle on track days. I will keep this brief as all tech specs can be got from the "Dogcamsport" website. It is very compact, ideal for recording sports as there is no HD. AS for recording live vj sets , its compact and easy to use but the quality is not great. The image is a bit blocky, not jerky it is 25fps. You probably would not want to re-use the footage you captured if Hi-res & Hi-def is your thing. If you are just a budding amateur like myself then its ok. If anyone wants a short clip of what it records like send me an email.
