Quartzcomposer is great and Modul8 support .qtz files direkt.

To use Audio-Video-Midi inputs inside Modul8, you must install
the kineme.net hacks.

First install Developer Tools (the new Installer have Quartzcomposer 3.1)

Make a new folder in "/Library/Graphics/Quartz Composer Patches/" or "~/Library/Graphics/Quartz Composer Patches/" (OSX10.5.3)

Install this plugins

> http://kineme.net/QuartzComposerPatches/SafeAudioInput
> http://kineme.net/QuartzComposerPatches/SafeVideoInput
> http://kineme.net/QuartzComposerPatches/SafeMidi

and for more QC plugins start in modul8 (like 3D importer)

> http://kineme.net/QuartzComposerUIHacks ... tchSupport

now install inside "/Library/Graphics/Quartz Composer Plugins/"

the 3D obj Loader
> http://www.vidvox.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 2ed5ebd0f0

or the 3D off Models
> http://www.vidvox.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2323

I like Freeframefilters

many QC patches you can find on
> http://www.quartzcompositions.com/phpBB ... hp?cmd=all
> http://machinesdontcare.wordpress.com/
> http://www.vidvox.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2418
> http://web.mac.com/vogelbusch/Site/iVi- ... tions.html

(QC support OSC, you can make a copie of the OSC-Modul inside
Modul8 and edit the script to make a new plugin to control you
QC-patches direkt from Modul8 interface)

Make you patches and have fun :O)

Hello Gnoma (great animations on your site, great splines )
Yes, i have open a kineme spline patch in Modul8, and this not work
for me too (no safe support) i have not check the version number, sorry!
Check the beta releases on http://kineme.net/beta (create a
account, if you not have) Last ver. "GL Tools Patch, 20080325 beta"
Pleace asking this in the kineme beta page, if you not find more
informations.
Here a other old site "Spline Patch for Quartz Composer"
-> http://caleb.poeticpublishing.com/?p=16
inklusive a plugin and the source code. The source code is
a X-Code file, open it and press compile to make a new UB plugin in
Xcode-3.1. If you find a way, pleace tell it me.

Hello Negrocorvacho
You must have the Developer Tools(this is on you OSX installer CD/DVD).
The new Developer Tools (QC3.1) can you download by apple, many
great QC examples inclusive (many more plugins to compile and install)
I have install the iPhone SDK inkl. Developer Tools
-> http://developer.apple.com/iphone/sdk1/ or
-> http://developer.apple.com/mac/
Sorry, this is a big installer and first you need a free
Apple ID account to load
(I have after the installation the Dev/documentation folder deletet,
the folder is big >1gb)
Info. form kineme QC3.1:

[bAjA]

thanks Sare fro putting all this info in one place... i've been having lots of fun with QC recently and the OBJ importer has added a whole new dimension...

I cant get QC patches that include the OBJ to play in modul8 ! have tried QT export also..

Anybody had any luck with this ??

[DJSare]

Hello bAjA

Sorry, not rigth my first link
((> http://kineme.net/QuartzComposerUIHacks ... ginsFolder ))

I have install all of the kineme plugins and then can i open a 3d
off-obj patch in Modul8, have you install this hack?

-> http://kineme.net/QuartzComposerUIHacks ... tchSupport

I like the off Model 3d plugin (support imgaes) or
use 3d patches inside a GLSL shader patch,
you can find GLSL shaders in the QC Developer examples
or on this site
-> http://machinesdontcare.wordpress.com/2 ... s-preview/

It's funny, i hope this can help you!

Hello DjSare

I don't really understand…

1>it is possible to have some control on the .qtz file (trought published ports) while it is loaded in M8?
it would be awesome !!!!!:P

2> what does the loadUserPluginFolder really do?
i read the page but i still feel stupid...

(excuze my english)
thanx

[bAjA]

hi Sare
thanks for getting back to me... i'm having another go at getting obj loader to work in modul8... but still no luck....

the Kineme LoadUserPlugin says that loepard fixes this issue..

are you running the obj loader in m8 under tiger..?

cheers_ bAjA

[DJSare]

Hello

I have make a pack, look this link

http://rapidshare.com/files/138546878/M ... d.zip.html

I hope this is helpfully for all and it's run. Modify your patches self.
To control values inside a QC patch use Midi, osc, SafeAudioInput,
which you want.

(Im run OSX10.5.4 on a Intel MacBookPro)

(on Tiger you can compile the "3DS loader source code" on this link http://blog.livedoor.jp/quartzcomposer/ )

[bAjA]

Sare you rock...

`It turns out i was missing the qcREHAB plugin... and now 3d models no problem...
http://kineme.net/QuartzComposerUIHacks/QCRehab/0.2

thanks for taking the time to make such a complete little help package...

big reSpect - bAjA

[DJSare]

Sorry! if the OSC not work in Modul8, now hath cwright form kineme.net
a Safe OSC online.

http://kineme.net/system/files/QC_Modul8_MaxMSP_OSC.mov

read this -> http://kineme.net/FeatureRequests/SafeO ... mment-2718

safe OSC plugin -> http://kineme.net/QuartzComposerPatches/SafeOSC/0.1

[vanakaru]

There are many QC plugins and patches working nice in M8. Only drawback is that any of them will use HUGE amount of CPU power. While M8 doing much more complex (3D effects) is way more economical.
Do you notice this too?
I run MBP 2.4 with everything possible upgraded.

[nieto]

Hello,

I am 10.5 user with Modul8 2.5.7
I downloaded and installed all the plug-ins http://kineme.net/
But the audio with quartz in Modul8 reacts with the module "Audio
input Quartz composer!
Modul8 does not react with modules kineme.

For example, I can not get "tb_soundflower.qtz" we can
Download: http://machinesdontcare.wordpress.com/2008/10/28/tb-
Soundflower /
It works in Quartz, but not in Modul8!
S.V.P. an idea?
